This client's family room offered the challenge of restricted natural light - leaving it feeling cold. The room often went unused. The client wanted a warm neutral palette that would enhance her lovely collection of folk art and family paintings.

The owners of this adorable Oakland home contacted me after trying to come up with a suitable color for their exterior. After they applied many paint samples to the outside walls of their house, they became overwhelmed and contacted me for help. Together we came up with a deep, beautiful brown that reflected their style and worked with the home's details. It's makes a stunning addition to their neighborhood!

Home offices present a unique challenge. Visual ergonomics are a key factor in considering color choices while at the same time including color design that works with the client's exisisting room decor and preferred color palatte. This fun client adores lavenders and purples which I always love working with. The picture shows the loft part of the office with a fun, contrasting accent wall.

I am such a huge fan of Mediterranean architecture. This lovely Alameda home was due for a fresh look. It needed a new color scheme to highlight it's beautiful detailing while still fitting into the color dynamics of the neighborhood. The deep green we chose was the perfect fit and contrast for the warm tile roof.

Mid-century bathrooms are wonderful but can be a challenge to paint. Unusual tile color combinations make selecting paint colors complex. This client wanted a more neutral wall color for her coral/teal bathroom. We went with a light, neutral gray on the walls as it's an appropriate mid-century color. We unified the vanity with matching teal for the tile counter top. This helped calm down and neutralize some of the color bouncing around the room.

A subtle change in green was just what this dining room needed. Two conflicting greens were not bringing out the beautiful warm tones in the furniture. A less subdued green brings ties the room together.

These clients wanted a fresh new kitchen without the price of a new kitchen. Paint can do wonders at achieving a facelift for a room without tearing out cabinets, counters and taking out a home loan. The white paint in this kitchen had seen better days and my clients wanted to warm it up a bit. Their goal was to have a cozy space where they could hang out with friends while cooking a meal. We opted for a fresh coat of terra cotta along the backsplash and a toasty brown for the walls and cabinets. To capture the beauty of their patio and bring it in, we added a little peek of earthy green for the seating nook.

This adorable house in Oakland dates back to the 1920's and is rich in detail. My client had a good idea of what she wanted and had started testing colors swatches on the home. I was brought in to help her tweek some of the colors as well as add a third. Color can be a powerful agent to both hide and highlight areas of the home. I worked with this client towards attaining theses goals so we could bring out the lovely architecture that this home has.

This hilltop mid-century home in Orinda is truly stunning. The homeowners had purchased the home and lived with the strong turquoise color that came with the house and overwhelmed the open living/dining area. Although they didn't want to completely get rid of the turquoise, simply painting a wall a more neutral color helped balance and calm the entire room's palette.
